LEC052025. Julia Mathew. "Thesis Statements".

 Thesis Statements

1.  1.     The Covid-19 Pandemic has brought upon an interesting role reversal between parents and children regarding restrictions on social media use.

2.      The fact that (hu)man is a social animal is reiterated by the increase in the number of suicide deaths during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

3.      The movie Aruvi is a brilliant critique of capitalism as a form of violence, along with a destigmatisation of AIDS.

4.      The subtle, yet strong emphasis on mental health in the movie Kumbalangi Nights is a slap on the supposedly 'modern and educated' Malayali society.

5.      Literature is a powerful tool of transformation; evoking empathy and understanding, and blurring the friend-foe lines.

6.      Keyword research is a crucial tool in converting audience into buyers, and thereby building a successful business.

7.      The admiration for the ‘Looking Glass’ book amongst adults despite all its balderdash owes to the fact that the book holds a 'curious, complicated' nonsense.

8.      The structure of Samuel Beckett’s work Waiting for Godot is reflective of the meaning of the play.

9.      The relative egalitarian position that Dalit women enjoyed within their homes due to the lack of Sanskritic restrictions (that ‘upper caste’ women were subject to) has seen an erosion over the past few years.

10.   Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is not a mere  regular romance novel, rather an interesting commentary on the role of wealth and status in the seemingly noble institution of marriage.
