BANE AND BOON OF VIRTUAL LEARNING
Before 2019, Every Student was Head over Heels to skip or bunk to school, college or studying. We always feels good and excited when we get leave in Institution , without even realising how boring and exhausting being in home without any work. A turn came in that is lockdown due to Covid 19 pandemic, because of lockdown every educational institution shut down this leads to a sudden change over in educational system that is E-Learning. Through Virtual Learning everyone can learn from home itself while spending time with family as well.
According to UNESCO, since the outbreak of Covid 19, students all over India are affected by school and university closures. Teachers also exhausted by empty classrooms. Students spent the days without even touching books and not worrying about future. So E - Learning is the best left option for teachers to make connection with students.Teachers engaging students through various e - platforms such as Zoom, Skype ,Google Classroom etc.,
Media is also taking up the responsibility in one or the other way. Many channels hire teachers to take class on television so the students will be in touch with learning. Social Media also doing their part as well. Many teachers uploads classroom teaching via youtube etc., Institution Administration also trying to give access to library, lab etc., But the Virtualization of Education turned out to be challenging for both the administration and students.
Virtual mode of Education brought many changes like
Bedroom became Classroom
Laptop became Blackboard
PDFs became textbook, Importantly
Teachers became Celebrity, seeing only on screens.
Online Education has bane and boon at the same time. Online classes has its own advantages that are worth discussing. Students need not to go far to schools or colleges. Some Hostlers got rid Homesick due to online education. Importantly it reduces the financial trouble for parent's. Many students enrolling themselves in various courses because of affordable fees and flexibility on learning time.
Teachers and students lacking digital skill, Many teachers and students are used to physical classroom, they do not feel comfort in Virtual Learning. Internet accessibility is also a major problem in our country not every students and teachers have proper network connection. Many finding difficulty in internet accessibility. Device availability is also questionable factor, since its a sudden change, not everyone is ready.
Parents also struggling in this new system of education because they are the sole responsible persons to introduces these kind platforms to their kids. Parents have to be with them during class hours and doing assignments to prevent from diversion. Parents should take up another responsibility that is using mobile or laptop for study purpose only, not for misusing it. Many students misusing this opportunity becoming addict to online games. Parents need to always keep an eye to their kids. Everything in this world has its own advantages and disadvantages like online classes, so its up to the people who are handling.
