 JOB PROSPECTS OF MA ENGLISH        GRADUATES

Despite the high rates of unemployment followed by the pandemic, ample opportunities await the students of MA English Literature. A vast number of literature students confine themselves to teaching. Of course, teaching is a good option but is not the only option. English being the global language creates possibilities in the entire world. One could find high level jobs both inside and outside their country. With good writing and communication skills, an MA English graduate can be recruited for a variety of job roles.

In the contemporary era, the influence of media is escalating and most of the opportunities in the future lies in it. A student of English Literature can choose his/her career in journalism where you can work as a news reporter, editor, feature writer, etc. Since the job demands individuals with language and communication skills an English graduate would be the best option. They could furthermore find jobs in various other sectors too.

One can also take up as content writer, copywriter, technical writers, proofreaders, etc.. where too our language is of primary importance. The other options in need of the same skill include Web content writer, Academic writer, Translator. Lexicographer is also a fine job which demands persons with rich vocabulary. Public relations is another sector where these students of good communication skills could join. Multinational companies also prefer students of literature to hold the higher positions of their company.

Hence there are plenty of possibilities for an MA graduates of English to flourish their career. The thing to keep in mind is that one should identify their own skills and choose a career accordingly for a bright future.

  The elements of equivocator overshadows throughout the tragic play  Macbeth  by William Shakespeare. Equivocator is a person who bends the language to deceive someone from interpreting the truth hidden in it. Equivocation was a defending strategy used by Jesuits in Shakeperean time to save their lives from the protestants.   Equivocation in Macbeth can be examined in the light of historical events. The playwright uses equivocators to condemn and criticize the act of equivocation practiced by the Jesuit Priests of  England, who planned the gun powder plot to execute the king James I of Scotland . Throughout Macbeth's life equivocation is playing crucial roles from his transformation into the king to his tragic death. In Macbeth there are more episodes of equivocation, compared to a single episode in Shakespeare's early play Hamlet , which was written in 1599.
