A masters’ degree in English opens up various job opportunities across the world. English being a global language, many career opportunities are awaiting the students well versed in it. Master of Arts in English is a post-graduate level course that calls students for a comprehensive study of English literature and to put into practice their analytic, critical reasoning and language skills in their study. The shift to online social platforms and the busy lifestyle of individuals, urge the advertising industry to look for creative writers. Hence, there is always a need for copywriters who have the ability to the play with words and minds to attract consumers and thereby cater to the demands of agencies. The access to technology and media also helps creative writers to work from home, and earn through freelance writing, blogging, etc.

Last but not the least, the traditional teaching profession is another sought after profession in India. Almost in all schools and colleges, there will be a compulsory course on English language. This highlights the teaching posts available in English departments in educational institutions. Also, there is a surge in the demand for teaching English as a foreign language in countries like China, Russia, South Korea, etc. This career can be pursued by qualifying CELTA, TEFL after completing the graduation course.

After completing an MA in English, students will be equipped with the highly sought after skills for any job. It is the supremacy of the English language over other languages that makes English an important second language for everyone. As long as this supremacy retains, English graduates who have a creative mind and proficiency in the language will not find difficulty in pursuing a career.
