JOB PROSPECTS OF A STUDENT OF M.A. ENGLISH 

       English is an international language. Now it has become the leading language of international discourse. It is the 'lingua franca' in many regions. At present, English is being spoken by more than 400 million people. English is the most studied language in the world. Widespread presence of English in many areas of the world points to the sea of opportunities that it offers. That is why the number of students who opt English for their post graduation increase rapidly. There exists a misconception that the students pursuing a degree in English subject can opt for only teaching as a career option. In contrary to this misconception, a huge job prospect awaits for a Masters of Arts English degree holder. As a matter of fact, studying English is one of the best career choices for a student.

      Any person who has done Masters of Arts in English is found to have strong communication skills in English, that is in demand in every sector in every country. This is a well known fact that most of the business firms have clients spread all over the world. They are in need of employers who can interact with them. Hence the fluency of English that has been acquired by Masters of Arts in English degree holder is an asset to them. One of the always-in-demand fields after MA English is academics. There is no profession nobler than that of an educationist. One becomes eligible to appear in the National Eligibility Test ( NET) only after completing post graduation. After clearing this exam, one can be appointed as an English language lecturer. Now a days, PhD has become a must-need qualification to teach in universities. Doing M.Phil and PhD will help the students in teaching career. Several online platforms that support teaching are also prevalent in this era of growing technology. 

      Journalism is another field that an M.A. English student can opt. An English post graduate is a perfect fit in this field, since the career in journalism requires the aspirants to be aware of their surroundings, who possess excellent communication skills. Apart from this, there are numerous areas that the post graduate students of English can explore. A popular choice among English post graduates is editor or assistant editor. They are also capable of grabbing job opportunities like academic writer, author, translator, quality control executive, theater actor, blogger, event host, lexicographer, copywriter and proofreader. Web content writer is a fast growing career option for English post graduates. 

      Pursuing a post graduate degree in English enables the students to step into advertising and public relations. This field includes jobs like advertising copywriter, creative director, event organizer, etc. In a digital age like ours, social media marketing is coming up in a strong way. An English graduate can make use of his/ her communication skills and creativity in this field. English post graduate students who have a creative mind can explore the copywriting field effectively. Librarian is the another job they can look for. Authorities of social service field welcome post graduate English students since they possess verbal communication and writing skills. Their vocabulary in English will be better than students who take post graduation degree in other subjects. This will help them to come victorious in communication media.

      In brief, English post graduate students have vast and wide opportunities in this electronic media age. As per the statistics, by 2024, the demand for copywriters, content creators, digital marketers and others will be higher. Thus English majors will be selected as the qualified aspirants to these fields. Pursuing M.A. in English can actually act as an entrance to diverse areas besides literary field.

  The elements of equivocator overshadows throughout the tragic play  Macbeth  by William Shakespeare. Equivocator is a person who bends the language to deceive someone from interpreting the truth hidden in it. Equivocation was a defending strategy used by Jesuits in Shakeperean time to save their lives from the protestants.   Equivocation in Macbeth can be examined in the light of historical events. The playwright uses equivocators to condemn and criticize the act of equivocation practiced by the Jesuit Priests of  England, who planned the gun powder plot to execute the king James I of Scotland . Throughout Macbeth's life equivocation is playing crucial roles from his transformation into the king to his tragic death. In Macbeth there are more episodes of equivocation, compared to a single episode in Shakespeare's early play Hamlet , which was written in 1599.
